Director
Jordan Wippell is an Australian filmmaker based in Los Angeles whose work has screened at more than a hundred festivals worldwide and broadcast on Robert Rodriguez's El Rey Network. With Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow) he curated Girl Internet Show: A Kati Kelli Mixtape, which world-premiered at International Film Festival Rotterdam and played Fantastic Fest. It is distributed by the American Genre Film Archive, which has toured it through North American cinemas since 2024 and released it on a sold-out limited-edition Blu-ray through Vinegar Syndrome.
His latest short, OBEY!, world-premiered at Popcorn Frights and had its international premiere at FrightFest London. It has since run thirty-four festivals across five continents, among them the Academy-qualifying Palm Springs ShortFest, Fantaspoa and Macabro Mexico City. The film won seven awards, including Best Short at Freak Show Horror Film Festival and a Jury Award at Sheffield's Celluloid Screams. ALTER released it online, and Bloody Disgusting picked it up for Bloody Bites Season 18 on Screambox. He is now completing his first feature, continuing his obsession with media and death.
